Politburo examines Gov’t Party Committee congress preparations
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam on September 10 chaired a Politburo meeting with the Standing Board of the Government’s Party Committee to review draft documents, personnel plans, and overall preparations for the first Party congress of the Government’s Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

At the meeting, the Politburo heard reports on the drafting of documents and personnel plans, as well as feedback gathered from ministries and agencies. The Politburo stated that the preparations were carried out seriously and methodically, in line with regulations. The draft documents reflected major viewpoints and orientations from the draft documents of the coming 14th National Party Congress, closely linked with the realities of the Government’s Party Committee. The proposed personnel plan was deemed basically appropriate in terms of structure, number, standards, and qualifications.
Politburo members generally agreed with the draft documents, while providing many constructive, responsible, and in-depth comments to further improve them.
In his concluding remarks, General Secretary To Lam asked the Standing Board of the Government’s Party Committee to incorporate the Politburo’s opinions and reasonable feedback from central agencies to finalise the documents and personnel plan, ensuring thorough preparation for the success of the congress.
With regard to priority directions for the next term, the Party leader requested that the Government’s Party Committee affirm its core leadership role over the Government, ministerial Party committees, state corporations, banks, and major enterprises. It’s important to translate into practice the goals of socio-economic development, national defence and security, foreign affairs, and social equity, while building a socialist rule-of-law state that is developmental, transparent, and people-oriented.
The leader called for improvements to mechanisms and policies on investment, land, and planning, as well as efforts to mobilise social resources and strengthen public–private partnerships for strategic infrastructure projects. He urged the promotion of industrialisation and modernisation on the basis of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, while advancing the digital economy, the knowledge economy, and new emerging industries.
He highlighted the importance of developing modern, synchronized infrastructure in energy, transport, telecommunications, smart urban areas, and in key cultural, educational, and health facilities at both the national and international levels. He stressed the need to enhance the material and spiritual well-being of the people by linking economic growth with social progress and comprehensive human development.
The Party leader also underscored the need to consolidate defence and security, maintain social order and stability, and strengthen diplomacy and international integration, particularly economic diplomacy, in order to elevate Vietnam’s position and reputation on the global stage.
