1,588 delegates to attend coming National Party Congress in early 2026

VOV.VN - As many as 1,588 delegates will take part in the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam to be held in early 2026.

Among them, 165 are incumbent members of the 13th Party Central Committee, according to a decision on the allocation of delegates to the coming national congress signed recently by Party General Secretary To Lam.

About 353 delegates will be elected from 11 provincial and municipal Party organisations that have not undergone recent mergers, as well as from the Party organisations of the People's Army and Public Security.

In addition, 1,070 delegates will be appointed from 23 merged provincial and municipal Party organisations, and from the Party organisations of central-run bodies, including the Central Party Agencies, Party Committees of the Government, the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organisations, and overseas Party organisations.

The 14th National Party Congress is a key political event that will shape the strategic direction of the Party and the country in the coming years.

The 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has decided to establish five subcommittees to prepare for the 14th National Party Congress, responsible for drafting documents, personnel matters, Party regulations, and logistical arrangements. The preparatory work is currently being urgently carried out by these subcommittees.

At the same time, local Party congresses at the commune and ward levels across the country are taking place, in preparation for the provincial and municipal Party congresses scheduled in the coming months.
