PM requests regular updates in draft report to Party Congress
VOV.VN - A report on socio-economic development to be presented at the 14th National Party Congress must be updated and closely aligned with the latest situation, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, head of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee of the coming National Party Congress.

Chairing the subcommittee’s review meeting in Hanoi on March 13, Chinh noted that Vietnam is entering a new phase of development with many opportunities and challenges, including digital transformation, green economy, AI technology, economic restructuring, and climate change.
Meanwhile, the world is evolving rapidly, with new, dynamic, and increasingly unpredictable challenges emerging, making it more difficult to forecast future developments.
Compared to the draft report presented before the 10th Plenum of the Party Central Committee, he said, many issues have been adjusted and updated, including economic and social development results, more precise and accurate data, and revised growth directions, tasks, and targets—with a goal of 8% growth in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years.
The draft report must be updated and supplemented to align closely with the evolving situation, he said, acknowledging the subcommittee members’ efforts in renewing the document following conclusions made at the recent 10th Plenum of the Party Central Committee.
The updates include socio-economic development results, more precise and accurate data, and revised growth directions, tasks, and targets, with a goal of 8% growth in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years.
The draft report must adopt a more innovative, breakthrough, and revolutionary mindset, methodology and approach that keeps pace with development trends, while the content should be more up-to-date, with proposals for new breakthroughs and drivers for growth, he said.
The PM instructed Subcommittee members to thoroughly discuss and accurately assess the situation, and work out feasible and highly effective goals, tasks, and solutions, particularly in achieving the two centennial goals for 2030 and 2045 to correspondingly mark 100 years of the Communist Party of Vietnam and 100 years of the socialist state.
The draft report will be submitted to the Politburo and then the Party Central Committee in the coming meetings for consideration.
The Communist Party of Vietnam is scheduled to hold the 14th national congress in early 2026.
