PM pays lunar New Year’s Eve visit to doctors in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited doctors of National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district on January 21 – the last day of the 12th lunar month.

The hospital is the leading healthcare facility that received and treated severely infected COVID-19 patients in Hanoi and other provinces in the north. Between February and Tuesday 2022 alone, the hospital received and treated nearly 3,000 cases, with half of them in serious and critical condition.

Meeting with healthcare workers there, PM Chinh said he was happy to see that the hospital has continuously grown in both size and quality over the years. From a building with 120 beds and 75 staff on the first day of establishment, the hospital has two spacious facilities with a modernly equipped machinery system, and a pool of qualified staff, becoming a reliable address for people in need of treating dangerous diseases.

“The National Hospital for Tropical Diseases is an important link in combating COVID-19. During the height of the pandemic, officials, doctors, and medical staff of hospital bravely risked their lives to treat and save patients. They even lent a helping hand to their colleagues in the south,” said the PM.

According to the Government’s leader, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet, and the hospital should be well prepared in terms of personnel, financial resources and medical equipment to cope with the worst case scenario.

He shared the hardship doctors and medical staff have to endure during the lunar New Year holiday, saying “The Party, State and people acknowledge the efforts of healthcare workers who are always busy at Tet.”

On lunar New Year’s Eve, the PM extended his best wishes and presented gifts to healthcare workers there.
