PM makes field trip to key economic facilities in Quang Nam
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 8 made a fact-finding tour of key economic facilities and major enterprises, including Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Chu Lai Port, Chu Lai Airport, as well as factories of Thaco Group and HS Hyosung Group in Quang Nam province.

At Chu Lai – Truong Hai Mechanical and Automotive Assembly Complex (Thaco Auto Complex) at Thaco Chu Lai Industrial Park, Tran Ba Duong, chairman of Thaco, reported that revenue of Thaco’s mechanical production and supporting industries increased from VND4,000 billion in 2022 to VND13,000 billion in 2024.
In 2024, Thaco sold approximately 92,000 vehicles, generating over VND 80,000 billion in revenue and contributing VND20,000 billion to Quang Nam’s budget.
Currently, the company has put into operation many new large-scale factories with new technology to meet international requirements.
PM Pham Minh Chinh praised Thaco’s achievements and encouraged the company to lead in innovation, digital transformation, green transition, and engage in producing train carriages and locomotives for high-speed rail projects.
At Tam Thang Industrial Park in Tam Ky city, the Prime Minister listened to HS Hyosung’s business report and the challenges it faces. He instructed relevant ministries and agencies to respond directly and resolve the company's difficulties immediately.
The Prime Minister emphasized the national economic growth target of 8% in 2025, aiming for double-digit growth in the following years. He urged Quang Nam to develop specific plans to achieve this target while supporting local businesses like HS Hyosung to boost production and achieve at least 8% growth, contributing to the country’s development goals.
