Party chief To Lam orders full rollout of military action programme for 2026
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam has called for the comprehensive and coordinated implementation of the Central Military Commission’s action programme, stressing the need to meet all targets set for 2026.
Chairing a meeting of the Central Military Commission in Hanoi on March 30, the Party leader, who also serves as the commission’s secretary, emphasised strict execution of the action plan to implement the resolutions of the 12th Military Party Congress for 2025–2030 and the 14th National Party Congress for 2026-2031.
He urged Party committees and relevant agencies across the armed forces to review, update and refine their action programmes to ensure alignment with practical requirements and timely delivery of assigned tasks.
The top leader commended the General Department of Politics for proactively proposing adjustments to the programme, saying the revisions reflect operational realities across the military. He agreed in principle with the outlined targets, tasks, projects and initiatives.
The standing board of the Central Military Commission was tasked with incorporating feedback from delegates and finalising the updated programme for formal issuance and synchronised implementation.
Party organisations under the commission, along with the Hanoi Capital Command, were also instructed to revise their respective action plans to ensure consistency with Party resolutions and improve execution efficiency.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders including State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Permanent Secretariat member Tran Cam Tu.
According to a report presented at the meeting, of the 82 tasks, projects and programmes scheduled for 2026, 50 have been launched, including 17 already completed and 33 progressing on schedule. The remaining 32 tasks are set to be implemented throughout the year.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to fully carrying out the action programme, aiming to build a strong, modern military capable of meeting national defence requirements in the evolving security environment.
