New Cabinet line-up to be submitted on April 7
VOV.VN - Newly-elected Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is scheduled to submit to the National Assembly (NA) a new Cabinet line-up for approval on April 7.
In the morning, Chinh is due to present a list of some Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and ministerial-level officials to be relieved of post due to their successful completion of duty in the 2016-2021 tenure.
Lawmakers will debate the list in groups and approve it at the ongoing plenary session before the PM submits another list of successors in his new Cabinet for consideration in the afternoon.
The incumbent government is comprised of the Prime Minister, four Deputy Prime Ministers and 21 members.
During the past tenure the government worked hard to maintain macroeconomic stability, curb inflation, ensure major balances and create favourable conditions for promoting growth.
Vietnam recorded average GDP growth of 5.99% annually, among the highest emerging economies in the world. It was the fourth largest economy in ASEAN and 37th I the world in 2020.
Vietnam also signed five big free trade agreements during the past five years, namely the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), ASEAN-Hong Kong China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA), EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Regional Comprehensive Economic partnership (RCEP) and UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA).
