National Assembly to pass 10 bills at mid-year session
VOV.VN - The National Assembly is expected to pass 10 bills and give opinions on 10 other bills at its coming seventh session in May, according to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
This is an uphill task that requires full-time deputies to work hard to ensure the quality of the bills before they are submitted to relevant agencies and the National Assembly, he said at the fifth conference of full-time deputies of the legislature that opened in Hanoi on March 26.
According to the chief legislator, the National Assembly has since the start of its tenure in 2021 approved 32 bills, with 25 bills tabled for discussions by full-time deputies through four conferences.
Among the bill, the Land Law (amended) was debated by full-time deputies three times before it was recently approved by the National Assembly with a higher number of votes in favour.
During the two-and-a-half-day conference this time, full-time deputies are scheduled to debate eight bills, including the Capital Law (amended), Law on Organization of the People’s Court (amended), Road Traffic Law, Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, Social Insurance Law (amended), Law on Archives (amended), Law on National Defense, Security and Industrial Mobilization, and Law on Asset Auctions (amended).
The eight bills were discussed at the sixth session of the National Assembly late last year with more than 900 opinions contributed.
However, they need to be more carefully examined to ensure the constitutionality, legality and uniformity of the legal system, stressed the National Assembly chairman.
