NA Chairman pays Tet visits to former Party and State leaders
VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on February 12 paid Lunar New Year (Tet) visits to former Party and State leaders in Ho Chi Minh City ahead of the upcoming Year of the Horse.
During the visits, Chairman Man extended New Year greetings to former State Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; and former Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, General Le Hong Anh.
In the warm atmosphere ahead of Tet, the top legislator expressed profound gratitude for the significant and enduring contributions made by the former leaders to the cause of national renewal, construction and development. He affirmed that their efforts have laid a solid foundation for Vietnam’s continued prosperity.
Chairman Man also shared updates on the outcomes of the recent 14th National Party Congress, describing it as an important milestone that consolidated confidence, determination and strategic vision for the Party and the nation in a new development era.
Highlighting the major responsibilities facing the country in the next phase of development, he stressed that the National Assembly is fully aware of its duty before the Party, the people and history. With a spirit of unity, innovation and responsibility, and under the Party’s comprehensive leadership, the legislature is determined to effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, contributing to the shared aspiration of building a prosperous and strong Vietnam.
He added that the National Assembly would continue to reform its organisation and operations, promote professionalism and modernisation, and accelerate the development of a digital National Assembly model to better meet practical demands. Legislative thinking would continue to evolve toward creating and guiding development, while strengthening institutional frameworks to ensure rapid and sustainable growth.
Chairman Man expressed his hope that the former leaders would continue to provide valuable advice and insights to support the country’s development for the well-being and happiness of the people.
For their part, the former leaders welcomed Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements over the past year and spoke highly of the performance of the 15th National Assembly amid unprecedented challenges.
They expressed confidence that the coming 16th National Assembly would further uphold unity and comprehensive reform, continue mobilising national resources, and fulfill its role as the highest representative body of the people and the highest state authority in the new stage of development.
Voters will cast their ballots to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and local People’s Councils in the 2026-2031 tenure.
