Leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh on his 136th birth anniversary
VOV.VN - Senior Party and State leaders of Vietnam on May 19 laid wreaths and paid tribute to Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of his birth anniversary (May 19, 1890 – 2026).
Attending the ceremony were Politburo members including Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
The incumbent leaders were also joined by former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, former State President Luong Cuong, former Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and former Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, along with other Party and State leaders, officials from central agencies, ministries, and mass organisations.
Following the ceremony, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, led by Politburo member and Chairwoman Bui Thi Minh Hoai, also laid wreaths and paid tribute at the mausoleum.
In the solemn atmosphere, Party and State leaders expressed profound respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the founder and leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam, for his immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
The leaders reaffirmed Vietnam’s continued commitment to the revolutionary path laid out by President Ho Chi Minh, emphasising the Party’s steadfast adherence to the goals of national independence associated with socialism, while creatively applying and developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in the country’s ongoing renewal and development process.
The ceremony also highlighted ongoing efforts by Party committees, authorities, and organisations nationwide to effectively implement the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW on studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and Vietnam’s new stage of national development.
After visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the leaders proceeded to the Martyrs’ Memorial on Bac Son Street to offer incense and commemorate heroic martyrs.
In a solemn moment of remembrance, they delegates honoured generations of Vietnamese patriots who sacrificed their lives for national liberation, independence, freedom, and the happiness of the people.
