Lawmakers debate 11 bills for submission to legislature’s year-end session
VOV.VN - The Standing Committee of the National Assembly opened its 37th session in Hanoi on September 12, to give opinions on 11 bills to be submitted to the coming year-end meeting of the legislature.

According to the National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the 37th session is scheduled to last for five and a half days, mainly focusing on legislation.
Among the 11 bills to be debated, he said the National Assembly Standing Committee will pass a bill on amendments and supplements to certain articles of the Law on Officers of the People’s Army of Vietnam, and another bill on amendments and supplements to certain articles of the Law on Health Insurance.
He said the government has submitted a proposal to include three bills in the 2024 legislation program, namely a bill on amendments to the Law on Public Investment; a bill on amendments and supplements to certain articles of the Law on Planning, Law on Investment, Law on Public-Private Partnership Investment, and Law on Bidding; and a bill on amendments and supplements to certain articles of the Law on Securities, Law on Accounting, Law on Independent Auditing, Law on State Budget, Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, Law on Tax Management, and Law on National Reserves.
The top legislator requested that the Legal Affairs Committee promptly review the proposed bills to they meet the required quality and conditions for passage.
He recalled Party General Secretary and President To Lam’s directions, focusing on intensely addressing and resolving institutional difficulties and bottlenecks to foster national socio-economic development and ensure national defense and security.
“We must immediately redress that can be fixed to ensure the requirements for development,” said the top legislator, referring to the importance of meeting digital transformation requirements, ensuring national security, reforming administrative procedures, and improving the legal framework for sectors such as taxation, health care, education, and other vital industries.
The year-end session of the National Assembly is scheduled to open in Hanoi on October 21.
