Former Deputy PM to be reprimanded over wrongdoings
VOV.VN - The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission has requested that competent authorities discipline former Politburo member and former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh for his wrongdoings, following the results of the commission’s recent inspections.

The commission, during its meeting in Hanoi on April 4, concluded that during his tenure as a Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Government’s Party Affairs Committee, and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Binh had violated Party regulations and State laws in fulfilling his duties and responsibilities, particularly in the fight against corruption and misconduct. He had also violated Party rules on prohibited activities for Party members and failed to set an example as required.
These violations had caused serious consequences, sparked negative public opinion, and affected the reputation of the Party and the State, warranting disciplinary action, it concluded.
Binh served as Permanent Deputy Prime Minister for the 2016-2021 term and retired in July 2021.
Also during the meeting, the Central Inspection Commission decided to issue warnings to Nguyen Manh Dung, former acting secretary of the Ha Giang provincial Party Committee; Tran Viet Truong, vice president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; and Pham Ngoc Nghi, deputy secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee.
In addition, the Commission recommended that competent authorities consider disciplinary action against Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and deputy head of the Party Central Committees’ Commission on Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation.
These individuals had violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties, particularly in anti-corruption and anti-negative conduct efforts. They had also breached regulations on prohibited activities for Party members and failed to set an example as required.
