Caring for revolution contributors is responsibility of political regime, society

VOV.VN - Carrying out preferential policies towards people who rendered great services to the revolution is a noble responsibility of the entire political system and people, said National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

NA Chairman Hue made the statement at the ongoing plenary session of the 15th NA in Hanoi on July 27 which coincides with the 74th anniversary of Vietnam War Martyrs and Invalid Day.

He took the occasion to express his heartfelt gratitude to late President Ho Chi Minh, revolutionary veterans and heroic martyrs who made enormous sacrifices to the Fatherland throughout revolutionary periods in the past.

According to the NA Chairman, over the years the Party, State, Fatherland Front, organisations, and individuals have stepped in to take better care of wounded soldiers, the families of national martyrs, and other revolutionary contributors, both materially and spiritually.

However, he reminded those in attendance that there are currently families of war invalids and martyrs and other revolution contributors, who still lead a life of hardship. In addition, many families have yet to find the remains of their loved ones, many of whom sacrificed their lives in former revolutionary bases nationwide during previous periods of conflict.

“Effective implementation of preferential policies towards revolution contributors is both a sacred sentiment and a noble responsibility of the whole political system and people,” said NA Chairman Hue, “This is also a factor to ensure social progress and justice, helping to consolidate the great national unity bloc and strengthen people’s trust in the Party and State.”

He went on to affirm that the NA will strive to perfect the legal system and supervise the implementation of preferential policies for revolution contributors in order to ensure that beneficiaries can fully enjoy those policies.

To mark the occasion, he extended his best wishes to revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, Heroes of Labour, the wounded, along with sick soldiers and their relatives.
