11th Party Congress of HCM City scheduled to open on October 15

VOV.VN - The 11th Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2020 to 2025 tenure is due to open on the morning of October 15, with 444 official delegates in attendance.

The 11th Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2020 to 2025 tenure is set to take place from October 14-19,  according to a press conference regarding the municipal Party congress held on October 12 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The political report that will be submitted to the congress features a total of four development programmes to be implemented in the southern city over the coming years.

They relate to making breakthroughs in terms of city management reform, with a total of 14 sub-projects and programmes, infrastructure development breakthroughs, with 13 sub-projects and programmes, and the development of human resources and culture, with 11 sub-projects and programmes.

In addition, there will be a key programme on facilitating businesses, innovation, and key products which will feature 13 sub-projects and programmes.

According to Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, head of the municipal Party Committee’s Board for Information and Education, great importance has been placed on the personnel work, therefore the municipal Party Committee has been able to conduct straightforward discussions aimed at making substantive personnel preparations to move forward with the new tenure.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will also take into consideration Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong’s belief that the southern city’s Party Congress must serve as a role model. This will see solutions devised as part of the city’s role in the entire nation, whilst also pointing out various shortcomings and weaknesses.

The devised schemes and sub-projects indicate the municipal Party Committee’s determination and sense of responsibility towards local citizens in building Ho Chi Minh City into a more developed and smart city moving forward, he said.
