Diverse activities mark 32nd anniversary of diplomatic ties with Venezuela

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela recently held a cultural and culinary gala event at the Teatro Simón Bolívar in Caracas within the framework of the 17th Venezuela International Book Fair (FILVEN 2021) as part of activities to mark the 32nd anniversary of both nations’ diplomatic ties.

As part of his speech at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Viet Duyen affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people’s stance of always supporting and standing alongside the South American country in its national building and development.

The diplomat went on to emphasise that the gala can be viewed as a manifestation of the friendship and solidarity between both sides through dances and songs about Vietnam performed by Venezuelan artists. This is along with traditional Vietnamese dishes cooked by Espacio Vietnam, the first Vietnamese restaurant in Caracas.

The event also saw an art performance programme, including symphonies and songs about Vietnam performed by artist Ali Primera and the Simón Bolívar orchestra. This was along with dance performances and an ao dai, the Vietnamese traditional dress, show. The art programme was a blend of Vietnamese and Venezuelan music, songs, dances, costumes, and people.

Within the framework of FILVEN 2021, the Ministry of Culture of Venezuela introduced the book "The process of renewing Vietnam's foreign policy with ASEAN in the 1986 – 2016 period".

Carolus Wimmer, head of the International Relations Committee under the Communist Party of Venezuela and Chairman of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship Association, noted his appreciation for the country’s foreign policy over recent years.
