Vietnam calls for restraint amid escalating tensions in the Middle East
VOV.VN - A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam on June 13 expressed Vietnam’s deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East and called on relevant parties to refrain from actions that heighten tensions.

“Vietnam is deeply concerned about the current escalating tensions in the Middle East and strongly condemns dangerous acts of escalation, the use of force, and violations of international law, the United Nations Charter, and national sovereignty,” said spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.
Hang was responding to reporters’ question regarding Vietnam’s position on the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
“We call on all relevant parties to exercise restraint, refrain from actions that heighten tensions, and resolve disputes through peaceful means. It is imperative to strictly adhere to international law, the UN Charter, and relevant UN resolutions, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations,” said Hang.
“Vietnam urges the creation of favourable conditions for ongoing peace negotiations, with a view to promoting security, safety, peace, and stability in the region and the world at large,” she added.
On June 13 morning, Israel launched a wave of strikes targeting Iran, and then declared a nationwide state of emergency amid fears of retaliation. One significant target was the headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), resulting in the death of Commander Hossein Salami.
Iran immediately vowed to respond forcefully to any attacks and said it would take all necessary measures to defend its people and national interests.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has issued a strong advisory urging Vietnamese citizens to limit all non-essential travel, especially between cities, after Israel launched air strikes against Iran.
