Vietnam supports Cuba’s just revolutionary cause

Hue welcomed the Cuban delegation’s current visit to Vietnam and said the Vietnam – Cuba fraternal relationship has been developing positively through regular visit exchanges between the two sides.

He recalled his April 2023 visit to Cuba where he held talks with Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, delivered a speech at the first session of the newly elected National Assembly, and signed a cooperation document between the two legislative bodies.

He shared difficulties and challenges Cuba is facing due to the western imposed embargo and the consequences of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters and fires, and affirmed that Vietnam is willing to share experiences in national development with Cuba.

He also affirmed that Vietnam always encourages businesses to invest in Cuba, and proposed that Cuba support and remove difficulties for enterprises doing business in the Caribbean state.

Hue expressed his firm belief that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will overcome difficulties, successfully carry out the economic update model, and open a new stage of development in national construction and development.

Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento for his part spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic development gains and expected Vietnam would share its development experiences with Cuba.

He thanked Vietnam for its support to the Cuban revolution and affirmed that Cuban Party and State leaders are determined to firmly protect independence and sovereignty and exert efforts to overcome difficulties and develop the state.

The guest briefed his host on the results of his working visit to Vietnam, saying the Cuban Workers Centre and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour agreed to organize a joint seminar related to legal provisions on protecting the rights of employees working in private enterprises.

According to the official, Cuba is preparing to celebrate 50 years of its leader Fidel Castro’s visit to the liberated zone of South Vietnam in Quang Tri province (Sept. 1973). He said the Cuban Workers’ Centre will work alongside relevant Vietnamese agencies to celebrate this event.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully conveyed an invitation to visit Vietnam again to President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
