Vietnam sends condolences to China over former Premier Li Keqiang’s passing

VOV.VN - Vietnamese leaders on October 30 sent a message of condolence to Chinese leaders over the recent passing of former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

The message was cabled by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, to Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinjing, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, as well as the family of the former Premier.

In their message, the Vietnamese leaders noted that Li Keqiang was an outstanding leader of the Chinese Party and State, who had made great contributions to the successful implementation of the Chinese Communist Party’s “first 100 years” goal to comprehensively build a decent society of China, and to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and China, especially to promoting bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam always appreciate Ly Keqiang’s contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and two countries, reads the message.

The same day, Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son also sent a message of condolence to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
