Vietnam – Russia inter-parliamentary cooperation committee meets in Hanoi
VOV.VN - The National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Russian Federation convened their second meeting of their inter-parliamentary cooperation committee in Hanoi on October 16.
The meeting was co-chaired by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin who was in Hanoi for an official visit to Vietnam.
The two sides examined the implementation of cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Russia, and shared experiences in policy and law promulgation to promote cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade, investment, energy, transportation, finance - banking, science - technology, digital transformation, information - communications, education - training, culture, and tourism.
They affirmed that parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in consolidating and strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. They vowed to coordinate supervision to boost effective implementation of cooperation documents signed between the two countries.
They reached an agreement on expanding information exchange, policies and laws in the fields of digital economy, cyberspace development and management, and high technology.
The two sides agreed to strengthen close cooperation at regional and international forums.
Both host and guest acknowledged the results of cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in recent times. They also highly appreciated the results of the second session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin respectfully invited Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue to pay an official visit to Russia and co-chair the third session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the two legislative bodies.
