Vietnam ready to share development experience with Cuba
VOV.VN - Vietnam is always ready to share its experience in areas of Cuban need, such as food production, renewable energy, and consumer goods manufacturing, President Luong Cuong said during his meeting with outgoing Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen in Hanoi on November 7.
Cuong thanked Cuba for its heartfelt solidarity and support both spiritually and materially to Vietnam during its past struggle for national liberation and unification, as well as in its current national development efforts.
Expressing solidarity with the challenges Cuba is facing, he reaffirmed that Vietnam will do everything within its capacity to support the Caribbean island state, with heartfelt commitment.
The President noted that the state visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam on September 26-27 marked an important milestone in bilateral relations, deepening political ties, strengthening mutual trust, and paving the way for new directions in economic, trade, and investment cooperation. He encouraged both sides to effectively implement the agreements reached during the visit.
Cuong expressed firm confidence that, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, headed by First Secretary and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, the Cuban people will continue to uphold the revolutionary achievements and make new strides on the path toward building socialism.
The President once again reiterated Vietnam’s consistent stance, calling on the United States to lift its embargo against Cuba and remove Cuba from its unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism.
At the meeting, Cuong appreciated the diplomat’s contributions to the special relationship between the two countries, which he said should be preserved from generation to generation.
Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen for his part briefed his host on the situation in Cuba, noting that despite facing significant challenges in development and the impact of the US embargo, as well as complex global developments, the Party, Government, and people of Cuba remain steadfast on their chosen path, striving to overcome all obstacles and uphold the achievements of the revolution.
He thanked the Party, State, and various agencies of Vietnam for their full support, enabling him to fulfill his duties.
He shared that the relationship between Cuba and Vietnam has constantly prospered and that the solidarity, friendship, and heartfelt assistance from Vietnam will forever be cherished by the Cuban people.
The ambassador expressed his belief that the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025 will bring many meaningful activities, further enhancing the special bond between the two countries.
