Vietnam is Slovakia’s important partner, says Slovak official

VOV.VN - Deputy Speaker of the Slovak National Council (parliament) Lubos Blaha has hailed Vietnam’s rising position regionally and globally, saying the country will be Slovakia’s important partner in the near future.

Receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia Nguyen Tuan in Bratislava on January 18, Blaha expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s outstanding achievements in national development, especially its sustainable economic growth in recent years. He said Slovakia can learn from Vietnam’s model of developing a socialist-oriented market economy, considering it as the basis for political stability and sustainable economic development.

He affirmed that both Slovakia and Vietnam currently have favourable conditions to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, as well as good between the two Parliaments.

Ambassador Nguyen Tuan affirmed the good traditional friendship between the two countries and said the results of the meeting between the two countries’ Prime Ministers on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, would be concretised, helping to foster bilateral cooperation in many fields.

The diplomat also thanked the Government and Parliament of Slovakia for recently recognizing the Vietnamese community as Slovakia’s 14th ethnic minority group, enabling Vietnamese expatriates to further promote cultural and educational activities, contributing to the development of Vietnam - Slovakia relations.
