Vietnam highly values multifaceted cooperation with El Salvador

VOV.VN - Vietnam attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with El Salvador, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco in Hanoi on February 14.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the achievements the Government of El Salvador led by President Nayib Bukele has recorded in socio-economic development, COVID-19 control and improvement of people’s lives.

He welcomed Alexandra Hill Tinoco’s visit to Hanoi and expressed his belief the visit and the opening of the Embassy of El Salvador in Hanoi would contribute to lifting the two countries’ relations to new heights.

The Prime Minister suggested the two countries continue to effectively implement the political consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries, and maintain coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums, actively contributing to solving regional and global issues.

He proposed El Salvador facilitate market access for Vietnam’s strong goods, especially agricultural and aquatic products.

The two sides will work closely together to build a favourable legal framework for trade and investment, and strengthen the exchange of business delegations, thereby turning Vietnam and El Salvador into a connection point between the Central American and Southeast Asian markets.

The PM also underlined the need to increase cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, sports, education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

The diplomat for her part affirmed the Government of El Salvador highly values Vietnam’s growing role and position internationally, and wishes to take bilateral relations to new heights.

The Minister pledged to lobby El Salvador’s ministries and sectors to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to concretize PM Chinh’s proposals, so as to bring practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
