Vietnam congratulates Lao People’s Revolutionary Party on 70th anniversary
VOV.VN - The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the latter’s 70th anniversary (March 22, 1955 – 2025).

In its congratulatory message, the CPV Central Committee notes that under the clear-sighted leadership of the LPRP over the past seven decades, the Lao people have overcome countless difficulties and challenges, achieving great victories of historical significance in their struggle for national liberation, construction and defence.
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic has maintained political stability, strengthened national defence and security, experienced economic growth, ensured social order and safety, and continuously improved the living standards of its people while expanding international relations, it says.
The CPV Central Committee affirms the Party, State, and people of Vietnam strongly and comprehensively support Laos’ reform efforts, and firmly believes that, by continuing the traditions of previous generations and building on past achievements, under the leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people will continue to achieve even greater successes in their reform process.
Accordingly, the Lao people will successfully implement the goals set forth in the 11th Congress of the LPRP and the ninth five-year socio-economic development plan, and particularly successfully organize the Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 12th National Congress of the LPRP in early 2026.
The CPV Central Committee maintains that along with the important achievements made by the two countries’ Parties, States and peoples in recent times, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos founded and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong has now become a unique and unparalleled relationship in the world. This invaluable common asset of the two countries continues to be strengthened, developed in a practical and effective manner, and brings tangible benefits to both peoples.
On this occasion, the CPV Central Committee thanks the Lao Party, State, and people for providing their great, valuable, sincere, and effective support and assistance to Vietnam over the years, and vows to work hard to continuously foster the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, elevating it to new heights in the interest of both countries and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the rest of the world.
Marking the anniversary, Vietnamese CPV General Secretary To Lam sent congratulatory floral arrangements to LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and other senior Party leaders of Laos.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent congratulatory letters to Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, as well as to Bounleua Phandanouvong, acting head of the LPRP Central Committee for External Relations.
