Vietnam and Venezuela mark 33 years of diplomacy in Caracas

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela on December 6 hosted a meeting marking 33 years of bilateral diplomacy and 15 years of comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.

Addressing the ceremony, Pedro Rodriguez, head of the Venezuela Mission to Asia, the Middle East and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted bilateral relations have over the years developed across various fields from politics to economics, culture, and education-training. The two countries have increased mutual support and consolidated friendship and solidarity, contributing to national construction and development, for peace, stability, and development in the two regions and all around the world.

Ambassador Le Viet Duyen, for his part, reviewed major milestones in the Vietnam – Venezuela relations and affirmed Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening the comprehensive partnership with Venezuela.

Besides reciprocal visit exchanges, he said the two countries have signed more than 50 cooperation agreements and implemented many joint cooperation projects, especially in agriculture and aquaculture. As of October 2022, two-way trade turnover increased by 700% over the same period in 2021, reaching more than US$50 million.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy held a photo exhibition introducing Vietnam, its land, people and culture, as well as the Vietnam-Venezuela relations. Participants also enjoyed traditional performances of Vietnam and Venezuela staged by Venezuelan folk artists and artists of the Venezuela - Vietnam Friendship House.
