Vietnam and Philippines to discuss future cooperation on January 30
VOV.VN - Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong and his Philippine counterpart Ferdinand Marcos Jr are scheduled to hold talks in Hanoi on January 30 to discuss measures on future cooperation between Vietnam and the Philippines.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr arrived in Hanoi on January 29 for a State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Vietnamese President. The official welcoming ceremony for the Philippines President was held in Hanoi on January 30.
Along with the high-level talks, the Philippines President is set to meet with other senior Vietnamese leaders, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.
The two countries are expected to sign 39 cooperation agreements in the fields of trade and investment, customs, aviation services, agriculture, and tourism, among others.
Relations between Vietnam and the Philippines have developed well over the years in various fields. Political cooperation has been enhanced through reciprocal visits and high-level meetings.
Bilateral economic cooperation has yielded positive results, with the Philippines being Vietnam’s sixth largest trading partner in ASEAN and the 16th in the world. The Philippines remains Vietnam’s largest rice export market.
