Vietnam and Laos to hold new defense policy dialogue
VOV.VN - The Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defence of Laos will work closely to successfully hold the third defense policy dialogue at the deputy ministerial level this year.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, was speaking at a reception in Hanoi on March 20 for Colonel Vongxay Inthakham, Defense Attaché of Laos in Vietnam.
Chien suggested that Colonel Vongxay Inthakham continue making recommendations to the Ministry of National Defense of Laos to direct relevant agencies to coordinate with their Vietnamese counterparts in making thorough preparations for the meeting.
He noted with satisfaction the positive development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in recent times, in which defense cooperation is one of the important pillars. He also appreciated the two Defense Ministries coordinating well in organizing a range of activities during the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship Year 2022.
Colonel Vongxay Inthakham affirmed that he would make efforts to promote the implementation of tasks and activities in 2023, contributing to strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.
