Vietnam and China exchange congratulatory messages on 75 years of diplomacy
VOV.VN - Senior leaders of Vietnam and China have exchanged congratulatory letters and messages on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 - 2025).
The messages were sent by General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Vietnam Fatherland Front President Do Van Chien to their respective Chinese counterparts Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, and Wang Huning.
In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders emphasized that over the 75 years of their shared history, the Vietnam-China traditional friendship has maintained a stable development trajectory, with strengthened political trust, close ties between their peoples, and increasingly substantial cooperation across various fields. These efforts have brought practical benefits to both countries, contributing positively to regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity.
The Vietnamese leaders expressed their appreciation for the valuable and effective support and cooperation extended by the Chinese Communist Party, State, and people during significant historical periods. They reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of prioritizing and valuing its comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China as a key component of its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification.
The leaders also highlighted the strategic importance of deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries and fostering a shared future community, in line with the aspirations and interests of both countries. This strategic collaboration aims to ensure the happiness of their people and promote global peace and progress.
Meanwhile, the Chinese leaders, in their congratulatory messages, underlined the historical and strategic bonds between the two socialist neighboring countries. They recognized the strong solidarity and mutual support during their respective struggles for national independence, and described their relationship as “comrades and brothers,” which vividly reflects the nature of their bilateral ties.
They also noted the continuous cooperation in socialist construction, the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership, and their shared commitment to a common destiny, which has become a defining feature of their bilateral relations.
On this occasion, Le Hoai Trung, secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party’s Commission for External Relations, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son exchanged messages with Liu Jianchao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, and Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
