Vietnam and Angola vow to realise outcomes of President Luong Cuong’s Angola visit
VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Tete Antonio in Luanda on August 7, discussing cooperation between the two countries in realising the outcomes of President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Angola.

Both ministers affirmed that President Cuong’s visit marked a significant milestone, opening a new chapter in the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Angola. They agreed to enhance close coordination between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to effectively implement the outcomes of the visit.
Both sides committed to concretising priority cooperation programmes in areas such as agriculture, food security, and rice production, while promoting business exchanges and expanding collaboration in trade, investment, and economic sectors.
They also agreed to make full use of existing cooperation mechanisms, especially the Vietnam–Angola Intergovernmental Committee, and to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels to realise the reached agreements.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Son called on the Angolan side to continue facilitating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work, and do business in their host country, contributing to people-to-people ties and the overall development of both countries.
He also extended an invitation to Minister Tete Antonio to visit Vietnam at the earliest opportunity, which Antonio gladly accepted.
During the talks with President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, President Cuong stated that the two countries still have ample potential to strengthen cooperation and they should build a partnership for joint development, serving as a model for South-South cooperation.
President Cuong also delivered a policy speech at the National Assembly of Angola, proposing strategic directions for Vietnam – Angola relations.
Both sides also signed several cooperation documents on the transfer of sentenced persons, on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, on crime prevention and control, as well as in the fields of defence, agriculture, broadcasting and oil and gas cooperation.
