Vietnam and Angola increase all-round cooperation

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has met representatives of the ruling party, the parliament and government of Angola in Luanda during his working trip for the seventh meeting of the Vietnam – Angola inter-government committee.

Son, who is also co-chair of the Vietnam – Angola inter-government committee, paid a courtesy visit to Luísa Damiao, Vice President of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), Américo António Cuononoca, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Victor Hugo Guilherme, Minister of Economy and Planning, Maria do Rosário Bragança, Minister of High Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Sílvia Lutucuta, Minister of Health.

The Angolan officials welcomed Son’s working trip and expressed wish to receive further support from Vietnam in human resource training, and share experience in educational management, climate change response and poverty reduction. They vowed to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese firms to o invest in their country.

Meanwhile, Son briefed his hosts on Vietnam’s recent development achievements and affirmed that Vietnam and Angola have treasured the long-standing friendship and all-round cooperation, especially in economics, investment, agriculture, education and health care.

Vietnam is willing to offer human resource training and expertise assistance to Angola, and it is looking forward to the Angolan side’s specific requests in this domain, said Son. 

He thanked the ruling party and the Government of Angola for supporting Vietnam in establishing relations with the African Union as an observer, and assured that Vietnam will act as a bridge between Angola and African countries with ASEAN.

He expected that the seventh meeting of the Vietnam – Angola Inter-Governmental Committee in Luanda on March 28 would give both sides the chance to foster their all-round cooperation.
