Vice President of South Africa begins Vietnam visit today
VOV.VN - Vice President of South Africa Paul Mashatile and his wife will begin a two-day official visit to Vietnam on December 13 at the invitation of Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
Vietnam and South Africa established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1993. Both countries are each other’s traditional friends and maintain their close bond, especially through visit exchanges and contacts between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the African National Congress (ANC), as well as the South African Communist Party.
South Africa is Vietnam’s first and only cooperation and development partner in Africa. It is Vietnam’s largest trading partner and export market in Africa, with two-way trade turnover hitting nearly US$1 billion in the first 10 months of this year.
Currently South Africa has 19 investment projects in Vietnam, while Vietnam has three investment projects in South Arica.
