Top Party leader hosts welcoming ceremony for US President
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on September 10 hosted a welcoming ceremony for US President Joe Biden who arrived in Hanoi on the same day for a State visit to Vietnam.
The ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.
Trong welcomed Biden and his entourage on a State visit to Vietnam. He invited his guest to the podium of honour to render the flag salute, and review the guard of honour.
After the ceremony, the two leaders posed for photos before moving to Party Central Committee’s Office where they were scheduled to hold high-level talks.
This is Biden’s first visit to Vietnam after he took office in early 2021.
The visit takes place at a time when Vietnam and the US are celebrating 10 years of their comprehensive partnership and 28 years of their diplomatic ties.
The visit is expected to help bilateral relations develop stably, substantively and durably in all fields, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.
