Top legislator Vuong Dinh Hue arrives in Jakarta for Indonesia visit
VOV.VN - A high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly led by its chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, beginning an official visit to Indonesia.
Hue was welcomed at the airport by Fadli Zon, a parliamentarian from Indonesia and chairperson of the Committee for Inter Parliamentary Cooperation, Denny Abdi, ambassador of Indonesia to Vietnam, and Ta Van Thong, ambassador of Vietnam to Indonesia, alongside other officials of Indonesia.
This is Hue’s first visit to Indonesia and also the first visit to the nation by the head of the National Assembly of Vietnam after 13 years.
The visit is of great significance as it takes place at a time when the two countries are celebrating 10 years of their Strategic Partnership (2013-2023) and looking towards 70 years of their diplomatic relations in 2025.
Shortly after the welcoming ceremony hosted by Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani in the morning, the two legislative leaders will hold talks and witness the signing of a cooperation document between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the House of Representatives of Indonesia.
While staying in Indonesia, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will attend the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in an effort to strengthen ASEAN’s solidarity and central role, as well as relations between AIPA and its partners, contributing to the process of building the ASEAN Community.
