Top legislator expects flourishing trade ties between Vietnam and Indonesia
VOV.VN - Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expected that the trade ties between Vietnam and Indonesia would continue to flourish moving forward by fully tapping into their potential and strength.
Receiving Arsjad Rasjid P. M., chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) in Jakarta on August 5, Hue noted that the two sides have great potential for stronger cooperation and they should strengthen economic-trade-investment cooperation to contribute to the common development of each country.
He highly appreciated close coordination between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and suggested the two sides continue to create opportunities for their businesses to ramp up connectivity so as to maintain existing supply chains and generate new supply chains with products of high added value of both sides.
In response, Rasjid agreed that the two countries still have a lot of potential for cooperation to strengthen supply chains in the region, especially in the fields of digital transformation; medical industry, innovation, energy transformation, and food security.
It’s imperative to promote trade and investment cooperation through increasing intra-regional investment to improve and enhance supply chains in the region and the rest of the world, he said.
Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is in Jakarta for an official visit to Indonesia. While staying in Jakarta, he will also attend the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA – 44).
After Indonesia, Hue will pay an official visit to Iran at the invitation of Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
