Top legislator arrives in Tehran for official Iran visit
VOV.VN - Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue arrived in Tehran on August 8 morning, beginning an official three-day visit to Iran at the invitation of Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
Hue is being accompanied by leaders of a number of ministries in charge of public security, foreign affairs, industry-trade, culture-sport-tourism, and agriculture, as well as leaders of several Vietnamese localities.
Hue and his entourage were welcomed at Mehrabad international airport by head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the parliament Mojtaba Zalnoori, Vietnamese ambassador to Iran Luong Quoc Huy, and representatives of Vietnamese expatriates in Iran, among others.
The visit takes place at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. It aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy, culture, education, science-technology and local cooperation, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
During the visit, Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is scheduled to hold talks with speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and meet with other senior Iranian officials. He will also attend a joint forum to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation and the opening of a cultural week marking half a century of bilateral diplomacy.
