State President Phuc to deliver a speech at global climate change summit

VOV.VN - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is set to attend and deliver a speech at the Leaders Summit on Climate to be held virtually by the United States this week.

Phuc has been invited by US President Joe Biden to attend the online summit scheduled to take place on April 22-23, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Biden has invited approximately 40 world leaders to the summit to be live streamed for public viewing.

The event aims to galvanise efforts by the world’s major economies to reduce emissions in an attempt to keep a limit to warming of 1.5 degree Celsius within reach.

It also seeks public and private finance to drive the net-zero transition and help vulnerable countries cope with climate impact.
