State President hosts Japanese Crown Prince, Crown Princess
VOV.VN - State President Vo Van Thuong and his wife on September 22 received Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko who are on an official visit to Vietnam.
Thuong welcomed the distinguished guests’ visit at a time when Vietnam and japan are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties this year, and expressed his belief that the visit would make an important contribution to promoting mutual understanding, as well as economic, investment and trade relations between the two countries.
He expressed his joy at the increasingly practical and effective development of the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership, and affirmed that Vietnam always considers Japan a good friend that accompanies, shares and supports Vietnam in national construction and development.
Thuong on this occasion extended his best wishes to Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, as well as Emperor Emeritus Akihito and Empress Emeritus Michiko, inviting the Japanese Emperor and Empress to visit Vietnam soon.
Japanese Crown Prince Akishino spoke highly of the development achievements Vietnam has recorded in recent times. He conveyed the Japanese Emperor and Empress’ greetings to President Vo Van Thuong and his wife, and emphasized that cultural similarities and historical bonds are important foundations for the two countries to promote cooperation and bring Vietnam - Japan relations to new heights.
