Singapore PM Lawrence Wong to visit Vietnam next week
VOV.VN - Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his spouse will pay an official visit to Vietnam from March 25 to 26 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This marks Wong’s first visit to Vietnam since taking office in May 2024.
The visit comes at a pivotal moment as Vietnam and Singapore recently upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to Singapore from March 11-13.
According to the Joint Statement on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, both countries are committed to strengthening political trust and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation; coordinating responses to global challenges while respecting international law, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and each country’s political system, without interfering in each other’s internal affairs.
They vowed to promote regional peace, security, and stability through enhanced collaboration, boost economic cooperation and trade, particularly in green energy, digitalization, and emerging technologies, and enhance people-to-people connectivity and capacity-building efforts.
Singapore has been one of Vietnam’s top partners since 1996. Two-way trade last year reached US$10.3 billion, a 14.7% increase from 2023.
Singapore is ASEAN’s largest investor in Vietnam and ranks second among 147 foreign investors, with 3,915 active projects and over US$83 billion in registered capital.
