Singapore parliament speaker Tan Chuan-Jin to visit Vietnam next week

VOV.VN - Tan Chuan-Jin, speaker of the Parliament of Singapore, will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 18-20, according to a communique from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.

The visit has been made at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Vietnam and Singapore established diplomatic ties in August 1973 and they agreed to elevate their relations to the level of strategic partnership in 2013.

During the Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Singapore in early 2022 the two countries issued a joint statement on strengthening strategic partnership and recovery cooperation.

Singapore is Vietnam’s second largest foreign investor, and its largest ASEAN investor, with a total registered capital of US$66 billion as of January 2022.
