Promoting Vietnam – Indonesia parliamentary cooperation

VOV.VN - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man on December 14 received a delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council, led by Fadli Zon, chairman of the committee, who is in Hanoi for a working visit to Vietnam.

Man highly appreciated the legislative bodies of the two countries resuming face-to-face delegation exchanges after a long hiatus caused by to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also welcomed the results of a working session between Fadli Zon and Vu Hai Ha, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam, believing parliamentary cooperation of the two countries will continue to contribute to promoting the Vietnam - Indonesia Strategic Partnership.

He noted with satisfaction the growing ties between Vietnam and Indonesia in recent times, and affirmed Vietnam wishes to further enhance its strategic partnership with Indonesia.

To mark 10 years of the Vietnam – Indonesia strategic partnership in 2023, Man proposed the two sides promote cooperation to bring their strategic partnership to new heights.

He also affirmed that the National Assembly of Vietnam will support and coordinate with the Indonesian Parliament to successfully organize the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44) in 2023.

Fadli Zon for his part said that the Indonesian authorities and the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam are actively preparing for upcoming visits of Vietnamese leaders to Indonesia. He also proposed the legislative bodies of the two countries strengthen supervision as well as cooperation in various areas.
