President meets Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance leader
VOV.VN - Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong on November 27 received Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance Toshihiro Nikai, former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and a number of parliamentarians in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) during his ongoing visit to Japan.
Thuong thanked members of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance for providing continued support and making positive contributions to the development of Vietnam – Japan relations over the years.
He suggested that the alliance promote parliamentary exchanges to increase bilateral cooperation in new fields such as digital transformation, green transformation, high-tech agriculture, education, labour and tourism.
The President also asked the parliamentarians to support the organization of more cultural festivals and exchange programmes for young generations of the two countries, while strengthening practical connections between the two countries’ localities, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam-Japan relations in the future.
The Japanese officials welcomed Thuong’s proposals and affirmed that they support stronger cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially in labour, agriculture, science and technology, energy, local and people-to-people exchanges. They vowed to promote the Vietnam-Japan University project as a symbol of cooperative relations between the two countries.
