President Luong Cuong meets with Angolan National Assembly leader
VOV.VN - Vietnamese President Luong Cuong had a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly Carolina Cerqueira in Luanda on August 7 as part of his State visit to Angola.

Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation’s visit, Speaker Cerqueira described Vietnam as a friend forever in the heart of Angola, and highly appreciated the President’s earlier policy speech at the National Assembly, which reflected the country’s open, diversified, and multilateral foreign policy and its desire to strengthen ties with Angola and Africa as a whole.
She expressed admiration for Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and believed the visit would mark a new chapter in bilateral relations. She proposed strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and exchanges between young and female parliamentarians, and promoting collaboration in science, technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
President Luong Cuong expressed his honour to visit Angola on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and to address the National Assembly. He emphasised that Angola is a key partner and a close friend of Vietnam in Africa. He affirmed Vietnam’s wish to deepen bilateral ties in both quality and substance, aiming to build a "Development Cooperation Partnership" as a model for South-South cooperation.
The two leaders agreed to enhance parliamentary exchanges, delegation visits, coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums, and to accelerate negotiations and implementation of key cooperation agreements in investment, trade, oil and gas, energy, mining, agriculture, and banking.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong conveyed greetings and an invitation from Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Speaker Cerqueira to visit Vietnam. The Angolan Speaker graciously accepted the invitation.
