President expects stronger cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan
VOV.VN - Vietnam attaches importance to the traditional friendship and cooperative relations with Kazakhstan, State President Vo Van Thuong told outgoing Kazakh ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov at a reception in Hanoi on August 30.
Thuong highly appreciated the recent Vietnam visit by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev which he said opened up a new chapter in bilateral relations.
According to the president, the two countries have many things in common, from their cultural tradition to their struggle for national liberation in the past as well as national development and international integration at present.
He said he believes that with the positive outcome of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s recent visit, bilateral cooperation will yield greater results in all areas in future.
The president praised the ambassador for his successful working term in Vietnam, and expected that the diplomat would make more practical contributions to the Vietnam – Kazakhstan relations in whatever position he would hold in future.
Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov for his part thanked the government and people of Vietnam for their support during his working term, and proposed that the two sides further promote cooperation in areas of their strengths.
Kazakhstan has strengths in information technology and digital transformation, and it wants to cooperate with Vietnam in this field, said the ambassador.
He also expected that President Thuong would soon pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.
