Politburo member welcomes new Chinese ambassador He Wei to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Politburo member and Permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee of Vietnam Luong Cuong received the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei in Hanoi on October 8.
Cuong congratulated He on being appointed as Ambassador to Vietnam, and expressed his belief that, the diplomat, with his rich experience, would make significant and effective contributions to further strengthening the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
He spoke highly of the positive and comprehensive developments in the relationship between the two countries in recent times, and affirmed that developing relations with China is a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy.
Cuong suggested that the two sides continue to coordinate in the coming time to promote regular high-level exchanges, effectively implement the high-level agreements, and deepen substantive cooperation in all fields, especially in economics, trade, and investment. He emphasized enhancing strategic connectivity, starting with effectively constructing railway routes in northern Vietnam to connect with China.
The two sides should also implement practical measures during the Vietnam-China Cultural Exchange Year 2025 to celebrate 75 years of their diplomacy, thereby strengthening the social foundation of bilateral relations, he said.
He urged both sides to strictly adhere to the common perceptions of their top leaders and to manage and resolve differences more effectively through peaceful means in accordance with international law.
He for his part acknowledged Cuong’s directions aimed at further promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and building a strategic future-sharing community between China and Vietnam. He emphasized that this relationship is increasingly developing and bringing tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
He reaffirmed that the Party, State, and people of China place great importance on the relationship with Vietnam, considering it a priority in China’s neighbourhood diplomacy.
The diplomat vowed to make efforts and closely coordinate with relevant agencies and localities in Vietnam to effectively implement the important common perceptions reached between the senior leaders of both Parties and countries.
He also expressed his readiness to serve as a friendly bridge to facilitate high-level exchanges and promote substantive cooperation across various fields, contributing to the further blossoming of the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam and bringing many tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
