PM Pham Minh Chinh begins Singapore, Brunei tour
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse left Hanoi on February 8, beginning an official working tour of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Brunei Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Chinh is scheduled to visit Singapore on February 8 – 10 and Brunei on February 10-11, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
He is being accompanied by a number of officials in charge of foreign affairs, planning and investment, industry and trade, national defence, public security, education and training, among others.
Chinh’s trip takes place at a time when Vietnam’s relations with the two other countries in Southeast Asia are developing positively. The trip is expected to contribute to strengthening political trust, deepening multi-faceted cooperation, and taking their relations to new heights, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment. It will help strengthen cooperation and coordination in addressing regional and international issues of mutual concern, including enhancing coordination within ASEAN and other regional and international forums.
The Southeast Asian tour will help give fresh impetus to deepening the Strategic Partnership with Singapore, one of Vietnam’s leading economic partners, and the Comprehensive Partnership with Brunei, a partner with rich economic potential for Vietnam.
