PM Pham Minh Chinh attends Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2024
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 25 attended the opening of the fifth Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum themed “Industrial Transformation: New Driving Force for Sustainable Development of Ho Chi Minh City.”
The forum brought together delegates from Vietnamese ministries, international institutions and organizations, local and international localities, representatives of diplomatic agencies, consulates, and businesses, as well as domestic and foreign experts in economics, technology, industrial transformation, and sustainable development.
Ahead of the event, delegates observed a moment of silence in commemoration of those who have lost their lives due to Typhoon Yagi.
At the plenary session on September 25, delegates look at reports on key topics, including global trends in industrial transformation; the governance ecosystem and policies to promote industrial transformation; and the industrial transformation strategy for Ho Chi Minh City in the context of regional, national, and international connectivity and new technology trends
They also examine the role of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Ho Chi Minh City linked to industrial transformation; China’s experiences in industrial transformation; and the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the United States in industrial transformation to support green and sustainable growth and development.
Panel discussions focus on the role of the C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City related to industrial transformation; priorities in the industrial transformation strategy; and the roles of businesses and stakeholders in the industrial transition.
The PM is scheduled to deliver a speech at a policy dialogue on September 25 afternoon. The PM and leaders of ministries and agencies will answer businesses’ questions related to the current state and solutions for implementing industrial transformation models in the city, as well as national strategic issues.
The C4IR will be launched on the same day, marking the collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City and the World Economic Forum (WEF). The PM will attend the launching ceremony of the centre.
