PM leaves for WEF Annual Meeting of New Champions in China

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh left Hanoi on June 24 for Dalian, China, to attend the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions and pay a working visit to China from June 25-27.

The meeting dubbed WEF Davos that brings together 1,600 delegates will discuss new growth drivers aimed at shaping economies in the future.

This is the second time in a row that the Vietnamese Prime Minister has been invited by China to take part in the meeting, showing WEF and China highly value Vietnam’s position, role and contributions to global economic growth as well as its development vision for the future economy.

The meeting presents an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its growth and socio-economic development achievements, conveying a strong message about Vietnam which is a dynamic, innovative, and attractive destination for global corporations.

It is also an opportunity for Vietnam to increase exchanges and enhance relations with other countries, partners, and international organizations, thus affirming its role and position in the international community, contributing to realizing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony alongside Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other leaders. He will also speak at other discussion sessions, and chair dialogues with the business community specifically for Vietnam.

He will share Vietnam’s perspectives on the world economy, prospects, opportunities, and challenges, as well as big changes taking place in the world that are impacting the global economy in the short and long term.

The Vietnamese leader will propose solutions to promote the potential and strengths of the Asia-Pacific region, including the role of the region’s major economies like China. He will also call for cooperation of WEF and partners, especially in prioritized and emerging industries and future industries that have great impacts such as artificial intelligence (AI), science-technology and innovation.
