VOV.VN - A high-ranking Government delegation of Vietnam led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh returned to Hanoi on May 28, successfully concluding their official visit to Malaysia where they also attended the 46th ASEAN Summit and related meetings from May 24 - 28.

This trip marked the first time in 10 years that a Vietnamese Prime Minister has visited Malaysia, and it was also the first visit by a top Vietnamese leader since the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

During his stay, Chinh had a packed schedule with more than 40 bilateral and multilateral activities. He held open and effective talks and meetings with the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia. Both sides agreed on an action programme for the 2025 - 2030 period, aiming to further deepen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

He also attended a Vietnam - Malaysia business meeting, held discussions with leading Malaysian corporations and enterprises to promote investment and business cooperation in Vietnam; visited and delivered a policy speech at National University of Malaysia; and met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and members of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

At the 46th ASEAN Summit, the Prime Minister delivered key remarks and participated in several major meetings, including the ASEAN - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, the ASEAN–China Summit, and the ASEAN – GCC – China Summit, as well as various related events such as dialogues with representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), ASEAN youth, and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC), among others.

On the sidelines, the Prime Minister also held bilateral meetings with several leaders, including the Prime Ministers of China, Laos, and Cambodia; the Sultan of Brunei; the Presidents of the Philippines and Timor-Leste; and the Secretary-General of the GCC. These meetings aimed to further deepen, substantiate, and enhance Vietnam’s cooperative relations with these countries.
