PM Chinh receives former PM Shinzo Abe
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is currently on a visit to Japan received Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister and former President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, in Tokyo on November 24.
Chinh expressed his delight at the rapid and comprehensive development of the Vietnam - Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership in recent times.
He affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to join Japan in opening a new stage of development for the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as to support Japan in promoting its important role in the region and the rest of the world.
He thanked Japan for providing Vietnam with vaccines and medical equipment for the COVID-19 fight, which he said clearly demonstrates the close friendship and fine relationship between the two countries.
The Vietnamese PM highly appreciated Shinzo Abe’s positive contributions to promoting the Vietnam - Japan relationship, especially his role in lifting bilateral relationship to the level of an extensive strategic partnership in 2014.
He expressed his belief Shinzo Abe will further help beef up bilateral cooperation in all fields, including human resource training, strategic infrastructure development as well as post COVID-19 recovery and development.
For his part, former PM Shinzo Abe welcomed PM Pham Minh Chinh’s visit which he said will contribute to substantially promoting the Vietnam – Japan extensive strategic partnership in all fields.
He highly appreciated Vietnam’s important role and contributions in the region and in the international arena, and said he is ready to work closely with Vietnam to deepen the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
The same day, PM Chinh received Sugi Ryotaro, former Special Ambassador for Vietnam - Japan.
