Party leader welcomes Chinese Foreign Minister

VOV.VN - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on September 11 received Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, who paid an official visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the 13th meeting of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation.

Wang briefed his host on the results of the 13th meeting of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and said the two sides need to strengthen political trust and promote cooperation in all fields so as to deepen their strategic cooperative partnership.

He also stressed that China is willing to share and work alongside Vietnam to beef up cooperation in COVID-19 prevention and control.

For his part, Trong welcomed Wang’s visit and the results of the 13th meeting of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation which he said will help strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

He affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam attach great importance to the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China. He also highly appreciated the positive progress in the relations between the two Parties and States in recent times.

General Secretary Trong suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen high-level contacts, consolidate their political trust, improve the efficiency of cooperation mechanisms between the two Parties, and enhance the exchange of experiences on Party building and national management.

Both countries should promote substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation between their ministries, sectors and localities, especially border localities, while jointly discussing and solving problems that may arise in cooperation, he said.

The Party leader also suggested that the two sides persistently and satisfactorily settle disputes and disagreements, contributing to developing the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership in a healthy and sustainable manner, and in the interest of their people.
