Party leader congratulates Xi Jinping on his re-election
VOV.VN - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong on October 23 sent a congratulatory message to Xi Jinping after he was re-elected General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee.
Trong congratulated the success of the freshly held 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and expressed his belief under the leadership of the new Party Central Committee and Xi personally China will deliberately accomplish tasks and goals set out by the congress to build China into a rich, strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist modern country.
He highly appreciated Xi’s affection, interest and contributions to the Vietnam-China relations and expressed his willingness to promote the friendly neighbourly relationship and strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries to new heights, meeting the interests of both sides, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the wider world.
The Chinese Communist Party elected a new Central Committee at the 20th national congress from October 16-22.
The new Central Committee on October 23 elected a 24-member Politburo and a 7-member Politburo Standing Committee, with Xi Jinping re-elected General Secretary.
